The school is showing more academic improvement than any other school in that county.” - Richard Louv

January 20, 2017

Great news! Chatt Hills Charter was recently featured in an article on Atlanta Parent Magazine's website that highlights nature based schools in the Atlanta area.

"Getting kids outside to learn can actively improve academic performance. The American Institutes for Research reported in 2005 that students in outdoor science programs improved their science testing scores by 27 percent. When Louv visited Chattahoochee Hills Charter School in Fulton County, he found, “The school is showing more academic improvement than any other school in that county.”.....

We are so close! We need about $2000 to reach the next milestone in the $250,000 outdoor classroom match. If we reach our goal of raising $50,000 prior to the end of 2016, $100,000 will be available for spring planting and to install much-needed irrigation on the Chatt Hills Charter campus. A tax-deductible donation in any amount will help us reach our goal. Please donate by midnight - 12/31/16 to help us reach this goal.

Thank you and Happy New Year!

Stacie Gottlieb

Executive Director

CHCS Foundation

Happy Holidays from the Chatt Hills Charter School Foundation!

It has been a wonderful year of learning and community building at Chattahoochee Hills Charter School. We added two 7th grade classes. We enjoyed numerous events including Learnapalooza '16, Taste of Chatt Hills, the Christmas Tree Sale and Breakfast fundraiser, and many more.

On the education front, we significantly improved our CCRPI score by 12% (Georgia elementary school average was down almost 6%). All of this happened while our students spent time outdoors, learning through a lens of nature, the arts and agriculture.

As you consider your year-end giving, please consider the Chatt Hills Charter School Foundation. All year-end contributions (unless otherwise specified) will benefit our outdoor classroom project, expanding the potential for the experiential learning that makes our school great. Every dollar you donate for the outdoor classroom will be matched, up to $250,000.

Foundation Events

October 15, 2016, marked the return of Learnapalooza to Chatt Hills. This 2nd annual fundraiser attracted over 200 attendees and featured 50 workshop leads, 25 vendors and lots of fun! Workshops included 3D Robotics Printing, a Cooking Class (led by a local Chef), soap making, and a practical Civics class - led by Judge Willie Lovett of Fulton County.

We raised more than $4,000 dollars, which will be matched, doubling the impact to $8,000, thanks to our Outdoor Classroom matching grant!

A special thank you goes out to Ms. Jacquelyn Wadlington and Jah Grille for being an outstanding community partner to the Chatt Hills Charter family. Thank You!

See below for images of Learnapalooza over the last 2 years.

In the Holiday Spirit

Congratulations to the Chatt Hills Charter PTO on their recent fundraiser. The Christmas Tree Sale and breakfast was one to remember. Not only did we have a wonderful selection of Christmas trees, wreaths, and custom 2016 CHCS ornaments, but attendees were treated to a hot $5 breakfast, which included pancakes, eggs, sausage and a beverage.

We got support from local Police and Fire and raised hundreds of dollars to help further our mission of making Chattahoochee Hills Charter School a world-class campus.

Class is in session

Met one of the wonderful Chatt Hills Charter School teachers who is helping some of the smallest people on campus. Avery Guy is one of our founding teachers and has been in education for over 6 years.
Take a look at the video below to learn all about the great work Ms. Guy has been doing with her Kindergarten class at Chattahoochee Hills Charter School.
